Mover/Driver

***$22/hr - $26/hr with tips and heavy item fees factored in*** Previous moving experience and clean driving record is strongly desired. Willing to train the right candidate. Regular raises for learning how to lead jobs and drive box trucks (drivers must be 21+ years of age or 20 years of age contingent upon passing a driving exam). Local Muscle is currently seeking able-bodied people to join our team based in Portland, ME as movers and drivers. Provided you are reliable, punctual, and have a good attitude, we'll train you. Our focus is moving furniture, so endurance and spatial reasoning are more important than raw strength. We also value experience in other physically oriented fields (general labor, landscaping, construction, sports etc.) as well as customer service experience. We offer competitive hourly wages in addition to tips and other incentives to move up our ranks. Drivers work alongside our movers performing moving duties and interacting productively with customers. Additional hourly compensation may be offered according to driving capabilities (a CDL is not needed, but a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is required. Drivers must also be 20+ years of age). ***A reliable vehicle and willingness to commute to our Portland office for assigned shifts is required*** Job Responsibilities: -Applicants must be able to lift at least 60 pounds throughout the course of a normal workday, and are often required to move up and down stairs for sustained periods of time -Follow safety guidelines and maintain open communication with team leaders -Demonstrate the highest level of respect for customers, the customers home and their belongings -Arrive reliably and on time to all scheduled shifts prepared to carefully handle items both light and heavy -Properly use moving equipment and supplies provided by Local Muscle as needed and requested -Improve and develop moving skills and techniques through observation and experience The Ideal Candidate will have: - availability for Sunday, Mondays and/or Tuesdays is strongly desired. -With our flexible schedule, you can set your daily availability.
