AI Coding Tools Engineer

Overview In this role, you will evaluate, pilot, and scale secure AI coding assistant tools across the enterprise to boost developer productivity. You’ll integrate assistants into IDEs and workflows, establish guardrails and compliance with enterprise and NIST standards, and collaborate with security, training, and enablement teams. You’ll monitor platform health, address issues, and drive adoption through governance and ongoing enablement. This is a hands-on, cross-functional opportunity to shape secure AI tooling at scale. ResponsibilitiesEvaluate enterprise AI coding assistants for features, model performance, security, and ergonomicsIntegrate coding assistants into IDEs (VS Code), terminals/CLI, and source control; configure guardrails and RBAC in line with enterprise and NIST requirementsCollaborate with Security to prepare ATO artifacts (SSP, risk registers, monitoring artifacts)Work with Training/Enablement to develop training and best-practice guides; support developer office hoursCollect user feedback, track adoption metrics, and refine usage patterns across developer rolesMonitor platform health and guardrail performance; support issue remediation and patches Key requirements2+ years of experience with leading AI coding assistants3–5 years in software engineering, developer experience engineering, platform engineering, or related rolesExperience integrating or evaluating LLM-powered developer toolsUnderstanding of NIST compliance and government cloud environmentsFamiliarity with enterprise DevSecOps, modern IDEs, and secure SDLC practicescollaboration across security, training, and engineering teamsability to translate requirements into guardrails and governanceuser-focused developer enablement with strong communicationAI coding assistants and LLM-powered developer toolsNIST compliance and government cloud environmentsDevSecOps practices, secure SDLC
