Job SummaryA Principal CAD Surface Designer is responsible for developing class A surfaces for interior surfaces or exterior aerodynamic surfaces to achieve the highest quality designs for engineering new product development. In this role, you will create models and detailed production drawings of components and assemblies using Creo Parametric.Duties And Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsBridge requirements between aero dynamic, cosmetic and engineering design elements with surfacing and 3d model designs.Work directly with Engineering to complete new designs and modifications, incorporate engineering change orders and release detailed drawing packagesCreate and revise class A surface, solid models and detailed drawings of complex components and assemblies using ICEM, and Creo ParametricManage, promote and release engineering data using Windchill PDMLinkHelp create and develop new digital design tools for the team, to ensure design methods continue evolving necessary.Mentor junior team members as deemed necessary and when requested fully supervise team members, managing projects, assigning tasks, checking surface quality and giving guidance, preferredRegularly review all data for quality and use of “best modeling practice” as defined by Cirrus, providing feedback as needed, preferredTake active measures to ensure data deliveries are met on time managing resources as deemedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
