Engineer - Medium Voltage
Supports product testing and certification projects by conducting technical evaluations, coordinating lab testing, and ensuring compliance with UL standards. nWorks directly with customers, manages project timelines, prepares reports, and provides technical guidance throughout the certification process. nnnDetermines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction. n nnProjects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites. Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services. n nnFollows up on contacts from clients. n nnCommunicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements. n nnActs to address client concerns and to resolve client issues. n nnProvides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services. Establishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements. n nnIs familiar with applicable standards, company manuals and appropriate technical literature. n nnExamines samples for compliance with UL requirements and notifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance or of any changes in project scope or specifications. n nnCoordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of laboratory technicians and engineering assistants and establishing completion dates. n nnCoordinates administrative aspects of project management. n nnMay serve as Project Handler of record and/or Reviewer of record as assigned. n nnCommunicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports. n nnPrepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages. n nnIntegrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. n nnResolves engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations. n nnAssists in the development of UL requirements. n nnAssists in developing special test methods and test equipment. n nnAnalyzes test program for adequacy and sequence. n nnMay coordinate and/or perform File Reviews, as directed. n nnMay represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shown. Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. n nnPerforms other duties as directed. n nnBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or chemical engineering. n nnOpen to fresh graduates and candidates with experience. n nnApproximately 0-2+ years of experience. n nnCustomer-facing experience is a plus. n nnTraining will be provided. n nnMust be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. n n nTotal Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000- $85000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
