As part of our team, your opportunities are limitless.ResponsibilitiesThe Traffic Control Technician will help control the movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects by performing the following duties listed below.In addition, you will:Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functionsDistribute traffic control signs and markers along the site in a designated patternManage day-to-day work zone set up, maintenance, tear down, meeting or exceeding customer, state, and company expectationsLift, carry, and place up to 50 lbs. of traffic cones to ensure the safety of the work zoneLift, carry, place, and assemble traffic control signs in the proper order to manage work zone trafficKeep equipment in trucks well-organized and in working orderDevelop superior knowledge of work zone setup, design, professional flagging responsibilities, and be willing to share your knowledge with teammatesDirect movement of traffic through the site, using signs, hand, and flag signalsWarn laborers and drivers when approaching a vehicle that fails to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuries to workersInform drivers of detour routes through construction sitesRecord the license numbers of traffic control violators for the policeGive a hand marker to the last driver in line-up of one-way traffic for the flagger at the opposite end of the site, signaling clearance for reverse flow of trafficWrite and review maintenance and incident reports for on-site issues or concernsCompensation $24.00/hr DOEQualificationsAbout You:Valid driver's license with a good driving record1 year of experienceKnowledge and skillful implementation of federal and state regulations for work zone safety and traffic controlKnowledge of the manual on Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD) guidelines and the translation of this to control traffic by using proper devices and techniquesKnowledge of safety rules for construction sites and the ability to abide by them500 hours of experience in traffic control flaggingBasic understanding of construction job sitesAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidays if neededYou have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT Med card for driving purposes (Applicants are subject to an MVR review and must meet company standards for a safe driving record) Hard work pays off.
