Machine Operator

Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsOperate various machines within the cell Makes minor adjustments as necessary or notify Lead person or Set up person if a more significant adjustment is required Maintains a clean machine and organized work areaPerforms preventative maintenance including lubricating machines when needed Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs Performs a variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, and transferring of parts Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances Follows schedules and procedures Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition Assists other operators if necessary Inspects work in progress, using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or Work InstructionsResponsible for quality of own work Forklift (i.e., powered industrial truck) operation All other duties as assigned Skills & CompetenciesMust be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and / or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training Computer literacy Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e., micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc. Capable of using hand tools (i.e., screwdriver, wrenches, etc.) Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions. Education & ExperienceMinimum five (5) years of experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
