Maintenance Director
DescriptionSurfpoint Recovery is looking for a Director of Maintenance as we grow and expand. Surfpoint Recovery is a cutting edge in-patient substance-use-disorder (SUD) treatment center. We are located in Coney Island, Brooklyn NY. We are an OASAS-licensed and CARF-certified Center of Excellence. Surfpoint Recovery offers inpatient detox, withdrawal, and stabilization services, as well as inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals with substance use disorder. A successful Director of Maintenance, understands the needs of a 24/7 operation with the first steps of providing patient care being a safe, and accessible environment. This individual will have an s95 Fire Safety Certificate and a New York State Driver License. The Director of Maintenance preforms a wide variety of maintenance tasks in the upkeep of machinery, equipment, furniture, metal work, electrical, and equipment supplies for the Surfpoint Recovery facility. Performs heavy manual labor, and must be knowledgeable of NYC codes and regulations and fire safety.Schedule: Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm), weekend availability required Responsibilities: Supervises maintenance and housekeeping staff Oversees outside vendors to assure adherence to contract terms (i.e. HVAC equipment, fire suppression systems, stand pipe, fire pump, exhaust filters, etc.)Conducts and records tests of Emergency Generator and Emergency Lighting System.May supervise skilled or semiskilled personnel assigned to assist in performing one or more of the maintenance duties illustrated above.Mixes and applies cement or plaster to floors, walls, ceilings, lays brick and tiles and finishes tile flooring.Inspects, repairs, and installs a wide variety of electrical equipment, fixtures, and wiring.Ensures maintenance staff workers use required safety equipment at all times to prevent injuries (i.e., work gloves, goggles, etc.)Uses a variety of hand and power tools in construction, remodeling or repairing doors, window frames, floors, cabinets, furniture, moldings, scaffolds, and steps; may install locks, refinish furniture or make concrete forms.Repairs, cleans, and assists in the installation of plumbing, heating, refrigeration, laundry or sewer equipment and machinery; may cut and thread pipes, reset sanitary fixtures and make minor repairs to pipe lines.Prepares and paints or varnishes interior of building surfaces and allied equipment.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications: College degree; in lieu of college degree the candidate must have graduated from vocational or trade school and have a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experienceMinimum of three years experience in HVAC, electrical, heating, plumbing maintenance and repair tasks in building, on various types of equipment, furniture, tools, etc. Experience with timecards, scheduling staff, and navigating electronic systems Must possess New York State Driver License Must have S95 Fire Safety Certificate Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently Must be able to stand for long periods of time Benefits: Three health insurance plans to elect from Vison and Dental Insurance Covered by Surfpoint Recovery Generous Paid Time Off Aflac Insurance On Site Parking401k Retirement Plan available
