EA Talent Solutions has been engaged by a well-established multi-job electrical contracting organization in Staten Island who is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations onsite. The right candidate brings construction accounting background and handles payroll, job-cost budgeting, and bank deposits with minimal oversight.Responsibilities:Bookkeeping & accountsMaintain general ledger and process AP/AR across multiple active job sitesReconcile bank accounts and credit cards; prepare and process depositsManage lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and subcontractor compliance documentsPayrollRun weekly or biweekly payroll for field crews and office staffHandle multi-rate and union pay structures; manage certified payroll where requiredFile payroll tax deposits and quarterly/annual returns (941, 940, NYS-45)Budgeting & job costingSet up and track job-cost budgets; flag variances for project managersPrepare monthly WIP schedules and project-level financial summariesAssist with annual budget preparation and cash flow forecastingReportingGenerate monthly income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reportsMaintain organized records for year-end reviews and CPA engagementsQualifications:Required3+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally at least two in a construction or trade environmentEnd-to-end payroll processing experience, including tax filingsHands-on job-cost budgeting and WIP reportingProficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online)Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines accuratelyPreferredElectrical or mechanical contracting backgroundUnion payroll and New York State prevailing wage experienceFamiliarity with Procore, Jonas, or FoundationAssociate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or financeAs a recruitment and workforce management service, we are committed to promoting equal employment opportunity in all recruitment processes.
