Speech Language PathologistThe Estacada School District is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to work 40 hours per week. This position will be assigned to the Summit Learning Charter student population and the hybrid learning environment. This position will be conducted virtually from within the state of Oregon, with the occasional onsite presence at Summit Learning Charter campus in Eagle Creek, OR, as needed for in-person student support and staff collaboration.The Estacada School District has emerged as a national leader in improvement science methodology. Bilingual skills (Spanish) are preferred but not required.Must be flexible and willing to work in person, on campus and/or virtually.Meet the District minimum physical requirements, basic skills, and/or health standards for the position.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:License from Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology or ability to obtain within 3 years.Certificate of clinical competence (ASHA)Previous experience working as Speech Language Pathologist in a school settingExperience delivering speech language services through a virtual modelExperience in evaluation, eligibility assessments and documentationLeading and managing eligibility and Individual Education Program meetingsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: May include, but are not limited to the following:Observe, screen and evaluate students to determine the current level of performance to determine eligibility for services; prepare evaluation reports and participate in drafting individual education program (IEP) goals and objectives.Diagnose and identify students with articulation, voice, fluency, and/or language delays and disorders using standardized, norm-referenced test instruments including determining type and severity of the disorderDevelop speech and language service plans including determining goals, objectives, methods, materials, frequency, duration, and modifications for virtual online education programProvide group therapy and instruction to students including analyzing, reviewing, and revising student progress; communicating with teachers and parentsDesign, implement, and develop activities and original instructional aides which are relevant, enhance the effectiveness of teaching, and address service plans including determining an appropriate number of activities, scheduling activities, and making group and individual behavior plansDevelop, select and implement direct, indirect and consultative services based on individual assessment results and planning intervention goalsPlan, develop and complete Individualized Education Plans according to school, District and State guidelines and policiesDetermine and implement when appropriate when students receive direct instruction services versus related services and consultative services for individual studentsEstablish, maintain and communicate student schedules to students, teaching colleagues, administration and parent/guardiansEnsure each student has up to date permanent and working filesRegularly create and share progress reports to students, teaching colleagues, administration and parents as necessary and as required per IEPComplete appropriate reports for local, state, federal, and educational agenciesRefer students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel or community agenciesParticipate in collaborative planning and inclusive practices with teaching colleaguesPrepare documentation (evaluations, observations, contact with parents, teachers and other professionals) for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information. Track and monitor specially designed instruction in the virtual settingStrive to have DRAFT IEPs sent home 2 weeks (10 days) prior to meetingSend completed draft for finalization 10 days after IEP meetingComplies with all District procedures, timelines, directives, and rules relating to assignmentDraft eligibility supporting documents, Prior Written Notices, Progress Notes, and other compliant IEP related documents to complete and send within the required timeline.Perform related duties as assignedAdditional Duties, not limited to the following:Attends Estacada and Summit staff training, required meetings, committees and professional development opportunities as assigned.New Student Enrollment: Review student SPED records, support in obtaining missing documents, complete Move In Letter, and coordinate scheduling new student IEP/amendment meetings, including all required participants.Works as part of an energetic building and departmental team to create a vibrant learning community for students receiving special education services.SALARY, BENEFITS, CONTRACT $61,130 - $106,521 (dependent upon verified years of experience and education as shown on official transcripts salary will be prorated for actual contract days worked and pro-rated for FTE)Up to 193 contract days at 1.0 FTE (40 hrs / week, generally an 8am-4pm workday)Professional development daysEmployee paid PERSone year probationary contract, renewable by March 15thStipend for ASHA / National Board CertificationGENERAL APPLICATION PROCEDURES: Applications are now being accepted and must be submitted through the online portal for consideration.
