JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Hillsdale, MI • Service Setting: Hospital Emergency Department • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: July 2026 - Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7a - 7p • Schedule Type: Flexible Schedule PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 53 patients per day; 22,000 annual visits • Admissions: Yes • Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 14 ED beds; 5 ICU beds • EMR System: Electronic T-Sheets • Office Equipment Available: Standard Emergency Department equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Vascular Surgery • Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage 12 hours daily • Staffing Model: MD/DO coverage 24 hours daily; NP/PA coverage 11a - 9p • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Expedited privileges available • Credentialing Timeline: Expedited for July availability • Onboarding Requirements: Orientation and EMR training with shadowing totaling approximately 12 hours COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Daily OT: After 12 hours • Weekly OT: After 168 hours • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Emergency Medicine procedures • Acute patient stabilization and management • Critical care management • Trauma and emergency evaluations JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Michigan Medical License required • Board: Will accept ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, or ABIM • DEA: Required • Certifications: Board Certification or Eligibility required • Experience: Emergency Medicine experience required • Other Qualifications: Minimum of 7 shifts required; immunization waiver considered DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide Emergency Department coverage in a hospital setting • Evaluate and treat emergency and acute care patients • Collaborate with NP/PA providers and multidisciplinary teams • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system • Participate in orientation and onboarding requirements as assigned
