Video Editor & Animator (Mid-Level)
Our client is looking for a Video Editor & Animator to join their team! This is a 40 hr/week role, hybrid in Westwood, MA. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, storytelling, and design, capable of taking projects from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate will be fluent in editing both short- and long-form video content and producing custom motion graphics and animations for digital signage environments - including retail displays, in-store screens, and branded environments. You should be comfortable working across a range of aspect ratios, screen types, and playback formats, creating visuals that are dynamic, brand-consistent, and optimized for high-impact display. This role will report to the Creative Director, Video/Photo.Responsibilities: - Edit high-quality video content for digital, social, and broadcast platforms (e.g., promotional videos, explainers, ads, interviews, and reels) - Design and animate motion graphics specifically for digital signage applications, including screen networks, retail displays, and experiential environments - Create compelling typography, transitions, lower thirds, and visual effects tailored to large-format or high-resolution screens - Adapt and version content across various formats, aspect ratios, and screen types - Collaborate with producers, designers, and content strategists to bring creative concepts to life - Create storyboards, rough cuts, and final animations that align with brand tone and objectives - Enhance footage with color correction, sound design, and compositing - Maintain organized project files, assets, and version control throughout post-production - Stay up to date with best practices for animation in motion display contexts and digital out-of-home environments Requirements: - 3-5 years of experience in video editing and motion design, with demonstrated experience creating content for digital signage or screen-based installations - Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite - especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop - Strong storytelling skills with an eye for visual pacing, animation flow, and composition - Experience designing for varied resolutions, screen sizes, and playback environments (e.g., 9:16, 32:9, LED walls) - Knowledge of audio editing and sound design for video - Comfortable working with cross-functional creative teams and applying feedback constructively - Familiarity with collaboration and asset-sharing tools (e.g., Frame.io, Slack, Dropbox) - A demo reel showcasing both video editing and motion design for digital signage is required Preferred (Nice-to-Have):- Experience with 3D animation software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender) - Familiarity with digital signage platforms, CMS, or playback systems (e.g., BrightSign, Scala) - Basic understanding of video encoding, compression, and delivery for signage networks - Background in environmental design, retail experience, or brand activationsIn this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information.
