Candidates can expect to develop a broad base of financial, commercial, and sector-specific expertise while working on engagements that span the transportation and logistics sector.Position OverviewLCS is hiring a Strategy Consultant or Senior Strategy Consultant to support its transportation and logistics advisory practice. Strong analytical capabilities are central to this role: the successful candidate will spend a meaningful portion of their time building financial, operational, and forecast models that underpin client engagements across private equity due diligence, corporate strategy, and airport and airline advisory work.Equally important is the ability to thoughtfully review model outputs to ensure conclusions hold up against transportation, financial, and operational realities. This kind of analytical rigor sits at the core of how LCS delivers value to clients, and it is one of the most rewarding parts of the work.ResponsibilitiesBuild financial, operational, and forecast models in Microsoft Excel, drawing on public filings, client data, and proprietary industry datasetsReview and refine analytical outputs to ensure they are well-grounded in transportation, financial, and operational realityConduct primary and secondary research on markets, customers, competitors, cost structures, and operating benchmarksSynthesize analytical findings into clear, well-structured client presentations and written deliverablesSupport engagement teams from kickoff through final delivery, including participation in client meetingsContribute to business development activities, including market outlooks, conference materials, and client proposalsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in finance, economics, accounting, statistics, or another quantitative disciplineOne to five years of experience in a role with meaningful financial modeling responsibilities, such as investment banking, private equity, equity research, transaction advisory, corporate development, or financial consultingStrong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to build clear, well-structured models from disparate data sourcesAn analytical mindset, including a habit of checking work against external benchmarks and thinking critically about whether the numbers tell a coherent storyStrong Microsoft PowerPoint skills, with the ability to translate analytical work into effective client communicationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under deadline pressurePreferred QualificationsExposure to M&A processes, due diligence, or PE-sponsored transactionsDirect experience in the transportation, logistics, aviation, or freight industriesExperience using AI tools in a professional analytical workflow, and interest in advancing their application within the firmPosition DetailsLocation: Washington, D.C. metro area. This is a full-time, in-person position.
