Location: Portland, Indiana Company Type: Human-sized company with the benefits and protections of a large organization (insurance coverage, structured processes, and long-term growth opportunities) Position Overview We are looking for a Transport & Logistics Specialist with strong, hands-on experience in freight and transport operations. The ideal candidate has significant experience managing truck transport, palletized goods, parcel shipments, container transport, import/export flows, and transport documentation. This role is central to optimizing our logistics performance and building strong relationships with carriers and customers. Key Responsibilities - Organize and coordinate truck, pallet, parcel, and container shipments - Manage domestic and international import/export transport flows - Prepare and verify transport documentation and compliance requirements - Compare carrier offers and negotiate competitive freight rates - Use logistics and pricing software tools to identify the best market rates - Optimize transport routes and logistics flows for cost and efficiency - Communicate daily with carriers, freight forwarders, and customers - Monitor shipments and resolve operational issues proactively - Support continuous improvement of transport processes Required Experience - Proven experience in transport and logistics operations - Strong knowledge of freight markets and carrier networks - Experience with transport pricing, rate checking, and cost optimization - Familiarity with logistics and freight management software - Experience handling shipping and customs documentation Preferred Skills - Languages such as Chinese, Japanese, or Korean are a strong plus - Strong organizational and negotiation skills - Clear and professional communication with partners and clients - Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously What We Offer - A dynamic, people-focused company environment - The stability and benefits package comparable to large corporations (insurance and related benefits) - Real operational responsibility and impact - Long-term growth and development opportunities - Diverse and interesting international logistics activities We are looking for someone practical, detail-oriented, and motivated to build efficient transport solutions with us.
