Mars Petcare- Shift Manager– Columbus, OHThis site manufactures petfood.Shift Schedule:Shift: Hybrid 2nd & 3rdSchedule: Monday- FridayHours: 7pm- 3:30amDescription of Role:The Shift Manager is an operations people leader who efficiently improves Human Safety, Quality, and Conversion Costs while Engaging and Developing talent in the production facility.What are we looking for?Minimum Requirements:High school diploma, GED or equivalent education3+ years of direct people leadership experience5+ years working in a Continuous Improvement manufacturing environmentAbility to effectively deploy training strategies and to directly train others.Proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and emailPhysical Requirements:Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hoursCapable of working in hot, cold and wet conditionsProficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.Preferred Qualifications:Technical degree or certificationsWhat will be my key responsibilities?Lead team of 15-22 associates to efficiently convert materials into quality products ensuring safety, security, sanitation, and adherence to design specifications and budgets.Recommend and implement CI improvements in methods, equipment, systems, safety, product quality and the organization.Guide teams through Autonomous Maintenance (AM)People management including hiring, coaching, training and evaluating associate performance and create development plans aligned with career goals.Assist Production Leads in coordinating materials, staffing, and resources for efficient line operations and changeovers.Handle additional ad hoc tasks as needed.Total Rewards:Starting Pay: Based on experience between $89-100KAnnual Bonus and Merit IncreasesBenefits Starting Day One:Medical, Vision, and DentalUp to 6% 401(k) matchVacation timeTuition reimbursementShort/Long-Term Disability18 weeks parental leave
