Rooted in biblical truth and Christian compassion, the Chaplain nurtures spiritual formation, supports emotional and relational well‑being, and helps cultivate a Christ‑centered culture within each school community.Essential R esponsibilitiesSpiritual Leadership & FormationLead and conduct chapel services aligned with the school’s mission, values, and statement of faith. Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care that supports Christian character formation. Serve as an ethical and spiritual resource to staff and students. Support and observe the Christian Character Formation Program (CCFP), providing feedback, coaching, and alignment support. Pastoral Care & DocumentationProvide confidential spiritual care, prayer, and support to students, staff, and families. Maintain accurate, timely, and appropriate documentation of spiritual care encounters. Make parent calls as needed to provide spiritual support, follow-up, and communication, with proper documentation. Respond with wisdom, discretion, and compassion during times of crisis or concern. Student & Campus SupportMaintain a consistent on-campus presence to support the daily life of the school, including: Classroom support Arrival and dismissal support Oversight and support of student projects and initiatives Build meaningful relationships with students to support spiritual, emotional, and relational growth. Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and counselors to support students holistically. Staff & Leadership SupportProvide staff support through prayer, encouragement, and pastoral presence. Facilitate or support: Staff Bible studies Morning devotions Professional development training from a biblical or character-formation lens Serve as a spiritual partner and support for school leadership and teams. Community & Family EngagementPartner with families to support spiritual formation and the mission of the school. Serve as a relational bridge between school, church, and community when appropriate. Represent the school network at faith-based or community events as requested. Collaboration & AlignmentWork collaboratively with campus and network leadership to ensure alignment with mission, values, and policies. Participate in meetings, training, and planning related to spiritual life and school culture. Uphold confidentiality, child-safety standards, and professional conduct at all times. QualificationsPassionate about serving Christ by serving His kids through the advancement of Christian education. Loves following the model of Christ to seek to love and serve others out of gratitude for His love and service to us. Lives and acts as a biblical role model and HOPE Christian Schools representative in your life for our scholars, team members and community. Maturing Christ-follower who sees the fulfillment of this role and our mission as an active expression of their ongoing walk with Christ. (Includes regular participation in a local church and other faith-growing habits and communities to be filled up regularly so he/she is ready to pour themselves into our work, mission, and team. Also includes alignment with and desire to advance our Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.) Agrees to engage in the faith life of our scholars and in collaboration with other team members High School diploma required; bachelors degree preferred Minimum of one (1) unit of Pastoral Education is preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of pastoral or chaplaincy experience preferred. Experience in educational environment strongly preferred. Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Exceptional business acumen with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish positive relations Knowledge of grief processes, trauma-informed care, and ethical decision-making. Work Location | Work Environment | Physical RequirementsThis is an on-site role. Regular presence on campus; travel between campuses will be required.
