Environmental Engineer
Environmental Consultants and Contractors, Inc. (ECC) is seeking a licensed Virginia Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a mid-to-senior-level engineer who wants to lead complex projects involving environmental remediation and regulatory compliance throughout the DC Metro region.
The successful candidate will manage projects from planning through implementation, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and contribute to solutions that improve environmental quality and protect public health.
Core Responsibilities
Environmental Investigation and Remediation
* Design and implement soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion remediation systems.
* Develop remedial action strategies and corrective action plans for contaminated sites.
* Oversee remediation system installation, monitoring, optimization, and closure.
* Support site investigations, risk assessments, and environmental due diligence projects.
Environmental Compliance and Engineering Support
* Prepare and certify Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans.
* Develop and maintain Oil Discharge Contingency Plans (ODCPs).
* Evaluate underground and aboveground storage tank compliance.
* Inspect and certify stormwater best management practices (BMPs).
* Coordinate with EPA, Virginia DEQ, Maryland, and DC regulatory agencies.
Project Management and Leadership
* Serve as project manager and primary client contact.
* Manage projects from proposal development through closeout.
* Develop scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and technical approaches.
* Interface with regulators, contractors, and construction teams.
* Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical team development.
* Support business development and identify opportunities for expanded client services.
Required Qualifications
* Active Virginia Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
* Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field.
* 4+ years of experience.
* Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communications.
* Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to perform occasional fieldwork.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
