SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Job Summary/Overall ObjectivesThe System Engineer- System Administrator is responsible for architecting, securing, and maintaining the technology infrastructure of the organization for the assigned area of responsibility. Particularly system wide Microsoft domain server and endpoint infrastructure, virtual infrastructure, storage area networks, backup systems, network client configurations, system and account security, public key infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure, virtual application infrastructure, load balancers, Microsoft 365 services, Azure services.Collaborates with Information Services other Independence Health System staff on joint projects ensuring timely delivery of high-quality systems. Operates as support escalation for the frontline IT operations team. Creates and maintains appropriate documentation for area of responsibility. Strengthens organizational security posture by employing InfoSec best practices.Essential Job FunctionsOperate as an escalation tier for Information Services support by identifying problems and investigating nature of the problems in a timely manner. Take appropriate action to resolve problems. Consult vendor, colleague, or manager as appropriate.Install, maintain, and manage systems and equipment in accordance with departmental procedure and Independence Health System policies.Monitor systems and take action to ensure system security, stability, and reliability.Develops processes and documentation for the Information Technology knowledgebase. Develop instructions for Information Services staff and Independence Health System end users.Manage tasks and prioritize workloads with critical deadlines.Other duties as assigned.Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]Required Qualifications/ExperienceBachelor's degree in related field.Two (2) years of experience of Information Technology support in an enterprise environment.Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.Preferred Qualifications/ExperienceRelevant certifications from vendors or training organizations such as Comp TIA.Five (5) year of system design and system management in an enterprise environment.License, Certification & Clearances Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police systemPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).Travel may be expected locally between System locations.Equal Employment OpportunityIndependence Health and its affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
