Job Summary/Basic Function
About the position:
The Technical Coordinator-Audio position operates within the Office of Visual and Performing Arts at the Ware Center for the Arts in downtown Lancaster. This position provides technical and production support for a wide variety of live events including music, theater, dance, lectures, conferences, and weddings. Job functions may include live audio, audio and video playback and recording, lighting, stage management, and general production-related setup, as well as basic repair, maintenance, and organization of technical spaces and equipment. As the Technical Coordinator with a focus on audio, this position operates as the primary audio engineer for the venue.

Duties and Responsibilities
Act as the primary audio engineer for the venue
Set up and operate audio, lighting, and video equipment for events
Serve as technician, board-op, stage manager, or deck crew for events as assigned by supervisor
Assist guest artists and rental clients with all technical matters
Audio recording and mastering
Video recording and editing, and live streaming
Attend production meetings
Participate in planning and advance for technical aspects of rental events and presented shows
Execute technical riders and stage plots
Design audio, lighting, and video for events as necessary
Assist in keeping up-to-date inventories of technical assets, technical drawings, and operational manuals
Operate motorized rigging systems
Assist in training student labor
Maintain equipment and storage areas in an organized and safe manner
Maintain technical equipment, perform basic repairs, identify the need for additional professional repairs or replacement
Perform all tasks with an adherence to organizational and industry safety standards
All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in technical theatre, entertainment technology, music business or other related field, or commensurate experience in high-level professional production
Three years of recent professional experience in entertainment industry/production. One year of post-secondary technical training may be substituted for one year of experience
Notable experience in mixing live audio for live music, theatre, and dance in a professional performing arts venue
Proficiency in:
Analog and digital sound consoles (Yamaha and Midas)
Live sound and recording techniques
Qlab
Knowledge of, and experience with, backline gear including amps, drum kits, and pianos
Experience in lighting, video, and stage management
Knowledge of troubleshooting technical systems, and basic repair of audio, lighting, and video equipment
Experience heading crews in a technical production environment
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse student populations.
Valid driver’s license
Successful interview
Successful completion of three background checks
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an educational production environment
Experience with software such as AutoCad or Vectorworks, Lightwright, Pro Tools, and Adobe Suite
Experience in theatrical rigging and carpentry
Knowledge of BSS Soundweb London, ETC Concert, and Extron Control systems

Ability to work in person on campus in an office setting.
Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions – heat, humidity, rain, snow, sleet, windstorms, etc.
Work is primarily indoors year-round.

Will encounter presence of theatrical smoke and fog, bright and flashing lights, extreme darkness, extreme loud noise, dust, odors, other potentially hazardous materials.
Ability to work on man-lifts at or above heights of 20 feet and catwalks above 20 feet
May have to work in cramped spaces or otherwise uncomfortable positions in the performance of assigned tasks.
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, when necessary, hard hats, respirators, eye protection, hearing protection, etc.
Ability to sit or stand for long lengths of time.
Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 50 lbs without assistance and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Able to reach and lift above shoulders, have full operation of arms and hands, squat, stoop/bend, stretch, twist, have fine and gross manipulation of hands, simple and power grasp, and twist hands and wrists.
