Vice President Security
POSITION SUMMARY:At Nemacolin, The Vice President of Security is responsible for leading all aspects of the resort’s security operations, including armed security, life safety, asset protection, and emergency preparedness. This role oversees the protection of guests, associates, facilities, and high-value assets such as fine art, antiques, and luxury furnishings, while maintaining a discreet, professional security presence consistent with a Forbes-rated luxury destination.The Vice President of Security plans, organizes, and evaluates security activities; recruits, trains, and mentors security personnel; ensures compliance with all applicable regulations; and partners with executive leadership and external agencies to mitigate risk and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and associates.Salary - Up to $500k/year.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.)Lead, manage, and deploy all resort security operations, including armed security personnelProtect guests, associates, facilities, equipment, and high-value assets, including fine art, antiques, and luxury furnishingsDevelop, implement, and oversee comprehensive security strategies, policies, and proceduresPlan, schedule, and evaluate security activities; conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsRecruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate security personnel, ensuring professionalism, discretion, and exceptional guest serviceDeliver and model superior internal and external guest service; actively build and maintain guest relationsEstablish and oversee emergency response, fire safety, threat assessment, and crisis management proceduresEnsure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to armed security operations and firearmsConduct special investigations and follow up on safety and security concerns to resolutionOversee security technology systems including electronic patrol systems, CCTV, access control, alarms, and monitoring platformsCoordinate protection, monitoring, transport, and emergency planning for high-value art and asset collectionsPartner with executive leadership, facilities, curatorial teams, and external law enforcement or emergency agenciesConduct security meetings, monthly safety meetings, and performance evaluationsPrepare and manage departmental budgets, staffing schedules, and performance metricsComplete required administrative duties, reports, correspondence, and confidential documentationMaintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all mattersPerform other job-related duties as assignedOther job duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Extensive knowledge of security operations, armed security practices, and use-of-force protocolsStrong understanding of emergency management, threat mitigation, and crisis responseDemonstrated leadership and team management skills in a security or law enforcement environmentAbility to lead with professionalism, discretion, and calm under pressureExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilitiesAdvanced decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, associates, executives, and external partnersHigh attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tactProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe AcrobatAbility to operate standard office equipment efficientlyAbility to read, review, and comprehend complex documentationAbility to perform basic mathematical functionsAbility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shiftsAbility to patrol large and varied terrain and respond quickly to emergenciesMust be able to speak EnglishThese skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, as well as through a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a security or law enforcement leadership related capacity.This job description cannot possibly include a complete comprehensive listing of all the activities, duties or responsibilities that may be require by the organization and/or members of management.
