An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Surgical Assistant/Surgical First Assistant specializing in operating room technology. The role is designed for professionals with a strong background in Orthopedics, Neuro, ENT, and Robotics who are eager to contribute to a dynamic surgical team for a 13-week assignment.Schedule: 12-hour day shifts with variable days off Start dates available every other Monday On-call requirement: 1-2 calls per week plus one 24-hour weekend call per month Call schedules include options from 5 p.m.-7 a.m. or 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m., depending on weekly needs Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year recent experience in the operating room environment Certification as Surgical First Assistant (NBSTSA-CSFA) Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Demonstrated proficiency in Orthopedics, Neuro, ENT, and Robotic procedures Willingness to float to affiliated North facilities as needed Key Responsibilities: Provide surgical assistance to physicians during operative and invasive procedures Maintain strict adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols Prepare and organize the operating room equipment and instruments Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient case flow Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes Actively participate in on-call rotations, including weekday evenings and occasional 24-hour weekend call Additional Details: Scrub color: Hunter green (not provided) Support provided during 24-hour weekend call with an Assistant Nurse Manager during the day and Charge Nurse at night Bring your expertise to a high-functioning surgical environment and deepen your skills working with advanced procedures and technology.
