This role is critical to ensuring high-quality manufacturing of composite components through precise machine operation, material handling, and adherence to process standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor filament winding machines and related equipmentPrepare mandrels, fibers, and resin systems according to work instructionsPerform pattern programming and adjustments (if applicable)Ensure proper tension, alignment, and material placement during windingConduct in-process inspections to verify product quality and specificationsMaintain accurate production and quality recordsPerform routine equipment maintenance and cleaningFollow all safety procedures and company policiesCollaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processesQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical training preferredPrevious experience in composite materials, filament winding, or manufacturing is a plusMechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings/work instructionsStrong attention to detail and quality control mindsetAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentComfortable working with composites, resins, fibers, and industrial equipmentBasic computer skills for data entry and machine interfaceSubmission to a criminal background checkPreferred SkillsExperience with CNC or automated winding equipmentKnowledge of differing materials.
