Senior Planner
OverviewThe Senior Planner position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Philadelphia area team out of Conshohocken, PA. Our office is executing cutting-edge projects for Pharmaceutical, Biologics and Cell & Gene Therapy, manufacturing facilities – from feasibility through to qualification – for both local and international clients. Together with our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.This is a senior-level role, and we are seeking a Senior Planner who is comfortable engaging with clients and adept at the technical responsibilities of the position. In this role, you will work closely with the project team to develop schedule data for active projects, proposals, and other business needs. You will produce both high-level and detailed schedules, establish work sequences, and identify constraints or potential risks. You will also assist with creating recovery plans and recommending opportunities to improve overall schedule performance. Your work will be essential in keeping projects aligned, on track, and delivered on time.In addition, this role includes mentoring and supporting the development of less experienced Planner/Scheduling team members. Project sizes will vary and will primarily involve life science industry projects, including both existing facility improvements and new construction.PM Group is an employee owned, international project delivery firm with a team of 4,000+ people. We are focused on growing a sustainable business centered on our people, our clients and trade partners.ResponsibilitiesDevelop scheduling content for proposals and active projectsBuild and maintain project schedules across assigned initiativeCreate schedule structures, including the WBS, activity durations, and logical sequencingTracks schedule progress, highlights critical activities, and performs routine updates across disciplinesSupport the preparation and upkeep of critical path reports and schedule performance indicatorsConduct schedule reviews and analyzes problem areas to determine critical driversReview, evaluate, and verify subcontractor schedulesContribute to the development of schedule recovery strategiesAddress a wide range of challenges requiring analysis of multiple factorsApply sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and approaches to resolve issuesEngage and collaborate with internal and external professionals within their area of expertiseSpecial projects as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) with 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of directly applicable professional experienceAt least 3–5 years of home office scheduling or planning experience supporting largescale EPC projectsA minimum of 10 years of experience within a design firm environment, ideally focused on Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, or Cell & Gene Therapy projectsHands-on experience developing, tracking, and analyzing project schedules, including schedule control and reporting for EPC effortsStrong written and verbal communication skillsBroad understanding of engineering and construction management principles gained through specialized training or practical field experienceAbility to interpret technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity takeoffs, and associated financial documentationProficiency in common PC operating systems and scheduling software, including Primavera; familiarity with additional discipline-specific tools such as Microsoft OfficeSolid understanding of all project phases, from design through construction, commissioning, and qualificationKnowledge and practical application of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedulingExperience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) principlesAdvanced capability with Primavera P6 and Microsoft ProjectAll of your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Why PM Group?As an employee-owned company, we are inclusive, committed and driven.
