Pay: BR/hr Tissue Culture Technician II (Contingent) Department: Ab Manufacturing Summary: The Tissue Culture Technician II will be responsible for Antibody (Ab) production by use of the Tissue Culture method which includes clarification and concentration of antibody supernatant, SDS-PAGE testing, and may include other forms of quality testing. This individual will function as an integral member of the Ab Manufacturing team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned.): As Tissue Culture Technician II, a daily schedule will be given with written instructions to perform the appropriate procedures for production of Antibody products. Operator must possess basic mathematical skills, provide accurate data documentation, and work in a timely and efficient manner to produce a quality product. Specific responsibilities include: • Learn department policies and procedures per departmental SOPs • Complete assigned work orders and secure necessary documents • Prepare and initiate all prep work and documents for assigned work order under supervision • Clarification and Concentration of Ab supernatants • SDS PAGE testing for Ab purity • Learn the necessary equipment associated with the job under supervision • Input data into multiple systems (i.e. E1, DCW, Filemaker) • Maintain lab supplies inventory and re-order as necessary • Other duties as needed Qualifications: A High School diploma, preferably a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology • 0 - 3 years of experience in a related field, preferably manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Tissue Culture Technician II ideally will have experience in a variety of areas to support the business objectives: • Good working knowledge of computer, Microsoft Word and Excel • Good laboratory mathematical skills • Good oral and written communication skills • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment • Team player • Well organized and detail oriented • Good interpersonal skills Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
