Requirements:2+ years experience in medical registration, specifically oncology outpatient registrationExperience as a registrar in an EPIC environmentExperience with insurance verification, eligibility, and coordination of benefitsExperience with prior authorization submission and follow-upAbility to document accurately in the electronic medical recordKnowledge of revenue cycle workflows in a patient-facing settingAbility to meet turnaround standards and manage high-volume workPreferred Requirements:Experience in a comprehensive cancer center or oncology specialty clinicExperience supporting Medical Oncology or Gynecological Oncology departmentsExperience working in a hospital-based outpatient settingFamiliarity with Patient Access workflows and scheduling processesProficiency in revenue cycle compliance and denial preventionSummary / Duties:The Authorization Coordinator II provides registrar coverage within the Alta Bates Summit Comprehensive Cancer Center during a temporary leave. This onsite, patient-facing role supports oncology outpatient operations by performing medical registration, insurance verification, coordination of benefits, and prior authorization activities in EPIC.The coordinator ensures accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, confirms coverage, and determines authorization requirements prior to services.
