Accounting/Financial Reporting Consultant

Accounting/Financial Reporting ConsultantStratfield is seeking an Accounting/Financial Reporting Consultant to join our client. This position provides hands-on accounting and financial reporting support for early-stage and prototype business initiatives. This person will partner closely with internal stakeholders to establish, manage, and enhance financial processes for emerging concepts as they evolve from early testing through more scalable operations. This position is ideal for an accounting or finance professional who is comfortable working in environments with changing priorities, building structure from the ground up, and acting as a collaborative thought partner to business leaders.This is a 6 month contract with possible extensions. Candidates must be local to Atlanta and be willing to occasionally go onsite. Sponsorship is not available for this position.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end accounting and financial operations for prototype-stage businesses, including transaction oversight, reconciliations, and financial reportingPrepare accurate and timely financial reporting to support operational and strategic decision-makingBuild, document, and improve financial processes for new and evolving business modelsPartner with cross-functional teams to assess financial performance, risks, and opportunitiesOperate effectively in ambiguous environments by identifying issues, asking thoughtful questions, and driving clarityHandle confidential and sensitive financial information with discretion and sound judgmentSupport multiple initiatives over time as business concepts change or expandWork with urgency and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environmentRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceAccounting and financial management background with direct financial reporting experienceExperience ranging from early-career public accounting to senior-level accounting or finance rolesDemonstrated comfort working with incomplete information or undefined processesStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to engage stakeholders to find answersHigh level of professionalism and discretion when working with sensitive informationAbility to manage competing priorities and move quickly when neededCPA or CPA-track credentials preferred.Experience supporting startup, pilot, or prototype-stage businesses a plus.Background in building or refining accounting and financial reporting processes highly preferred.Curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset a must.Experience with accounting and financial reporting tools preferred.QuickBooks experience is helpful but not required.Familiarity with payment platforms or non-integrated financial systems is a plus.About StratfieldWe started Stratfield Consulting with the belief that companies are looking for a more reliable consulting firm to deliver an expanding list of projects.
