Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and service-driven Apartment Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of a Melville Apartments located in Lake Highlands in Dallas. This role plays a key part in driving financial performance through rent collections and delinquency management while also supporting leasing efforts, resident relations, and overall property operations.The ideal candidate brings strong follow-through, confidence in financial conversations, and the ability to balance administrative precision with resident-facing service.Key ResponsibilitiesRent Collections & Financial ManagementManage rent collections, delinquency tracking, and consistent follow-up communication with residentsServe required notices in accordance with company policy and local regulationsWork proactively to reduce outstanding balances and establish payment arrangementsPost rent payments, process deposits, and maintain accurate resident ledgersAssist with monthly financial reporting, variance explanations, and occupancy trackingSupport invoice processing and vendor communication as neededLeasing & Resident RelationsShare leasing responsibilities including conducting tours, qualifying prospects, and closing leasesProcess applications, verify documentation, and ensure compliance with screening criteriaPrepare and execute lease agreements and renewalsDeliver exceptional customer service to residents and prospectsSupport resident retention efforts and community engagement initiativesOperations & Administrative SupportPartner with the Property Manager on daily operations and team coordinationMaintain accurate resident files, reports, and compliance documentationAssist with move-in/move-out procedures and inspectionsCoordinate with maintenance to ensure timely completion of service requestsHelp maintain strong curb appeal and overall community standardsQualifications2+ years of multifamily property management experience preferredStrong experience in rent collections and delinquency managementProven leasing and closing abilityExperience with property management software (Yardi experience is a plus)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailProfessional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWhy Work for J Street?High standards.
