Job DetailsLocation: On-siteType: Contract (12 Months)Shift: Standard business hoursWork Environment: Life sciences laboratoryPay Range: $50–55/hourOverviewA large life sciences organization is seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to support robotic laboratory operations and automation workflows. This role focuses on maintaining, programming, and optimizing integrated robotic systems that replicate laboratory bench workflows at scale. The ideal candidate brings strong lab-facing automation experience and thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and program automated laboratory systems, including robotic platforms and liquid handling instrumentsSupport automation workflows for assay development and execution in partnership with scientific teamsTroubleshoot, maintain, and optimize:Robotic systemsLiquid handling platformsIntegrated laboratory instrumentationConfigure and support automation software platforms (e.g., Momentum or equivalent scheduling tools)Partner with IT and engineering teams on system integration and custom automation solutionsParticipate in instrument validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQCoordinate preventative maintenance and review vendor documentationMaintain system ownership responsibilities, including:Access managementInstrument lifecycle trackingCompliance and documentation adherenceRequired Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical fieldHands-on robotic automation experience in a laboratory environmentExperience working with:Laboratory automation systemsLiquid handling platformsBackground supporting lab operations or R&D environmentsPlussesExposure to instrument validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ)Experience with automation software platforms such as Momentum or similar tools
