Ophthalmic Technician

Job Description Our office is looking for a friendly, hardworking, enthusiastic new member to our team! We are a busy optometric practice in a great location in Silverlake/Los Feliz area. Experience in an optometric or medical setting is required. All staff are cross-trained and there is potential to grow. Requirements:* Excellent communication skills * Outstanding patient service * Ability to multi-task * Well-organized with attention to detail and problem solving skills * Computer typing and data entry skills * Reliable transportation * Willingness to learn * Fast learner * Bilingual SpanishDesired qualifications:* Familiarity with medical terminology and medical billing in an optometric setting * Experience using electronic health records (specifically MaximEyes) * Working knowledge of opticsExpected duties:* Schedule and confirm appointments; maintain schedule * Answer all incoming phone calls, check voicemails and respond accordingly * Contact patients for glasses and contacts pick-ups * Verify insurance eligibility, both medical and vision * Respond to emails and maintain online reputation sites * Pre-testing patients with state-of-the-art equipment and preparing charts for the doctorEducation and Experience:* One year experience in a medical or optometric setting * High school graduate, some college preferred, certificate or degreeOpportunity to grow and perform Optician duties, for example, sales of glasses and contacts lens orders.
