For over 20 years LER has been working with customers across North America to meet their engineering resource challenges.What you will be doing:Support integration work to develop a complete control system, including sensor and ECM developmentSupport electronic, electrical, and mechanical design integration of engine control system hardware that meet the needs for product platforms, applications and markets worldwideSupport root cause investigations on controls hardware component reliability and field test issues via a structured data based processDevelop, apply, maintain, and improve hardware controls designs, including optimization and cost reductionDocument project activities and results in technical reportsCommunicate changes by authoring engineering change documentsFollow VPI processes for developing and releasing new productsProvide support for electronics and systems, including troubleshooting issues in the field and coordinating with suppliers to resolve product problemsSupport production, validation, and field-return investigations Document findings and recommend corrective actions Interface with design engineering on failure mechanisms and fixes. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the following areas:Experience with electronic component environmental and electromagnetic compatibility qualification and test methodologyFamiliarity with engine or power generation controls hardware: Electronic control modules, Power electronics, Electric motors, Sensors, Actuators, Harness Design, including experience with optimizing electronics systems and effective power managementSupport use of Six Sigma and Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) tools in regular workKnowledge on using/leading iDFMEAs and FTAsExperience using diagnostic tools (e.g., CAN analyzers, OEM tools ) Troubleshooting & Debug Skills Strong root cause analysis capability: Structured problem solving (5-Why, Fishbone, fault isolation) Experience with: Embedded systems debugging (basic firmware awareness helpful) Calibration and diagnostic tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, Vector CANoe/CANalyzer) What you'll get:Full benefits: medical, dental, 401K matchOngoing professional development opportunitiesFlexible Hybrid scheduleThe opportunity to work on industry leading projectsWhat you'll need to be successful:BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Hardware Controls Electronics2 years of professional work experience requiredUser level use of Pro-Engineer for component assembly and/or harness designExperience with electronic component environmental and electromagnetic compatibility qualification and test methodologyFamiliarity with engine or power generation controls hardware: Electronic control modules, Power electronics, Electric motors, Sensors, Actuators, Harness Design, including experience with optimizing electronics systems and effective power managementFollow quality practices with other hardware controls engineers to insure that Engineering Standards Work is effectively deployed and followedSupport use of Six Sigma and Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) tools in regular workKnowledge on using/leading iDFMEAs and FTAsAbility to work in a team environment, both on a small team-based work team member and as a member of a larger engine development teamAbility to lead design and development discussions related to controls hardwareStrong documentation skills (clear failure reports, test procedures) Ability to work independently in a lab environment Effective communication with design, manufacturing, and quality teams Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership Self-Starter, someone who can lead a task and will proactively address road blocksClick the Easy Apply button to learn more.LI-MC
