In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry, developing and conducting in-vitro assays to evaluate the efficacy, uptake, or metabolism of early-stage drug candidates. Reporting to our Director, Biology, you will work closely with experienced scientists to support the development of new therapies. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn about Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) and Molecular Pharmacology techniques to support Drug Discovery and Development.RESPONSIBILITIES:Utilize common lab techniques, conduct assays, and handle laboratory samples to support Biology research effortsFollow written protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) accuratelyManage time efficiently, prioritize objectives, and record experiments in an electronic lab notebook in a timely mannerAdherence to EH&S rules and regulationsContribute to experimental planning, apply analytical thinking to identify problems, and offer potential solutionsCommunicate clearly and respectfully with all members of the organizationRegularly report and discuss research findings with peers or supervisorsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:3rd-4th year undergraduate students, or recent graduates in Chemistry, Biology or other relevant fieldAbility to use basic laboratory equipment (e.g., pipettes, microscopes, centrifuges)Previous tissue culture experience Familiarity with handling hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, biological agents) and understanding safety data sheets (SDS)Understanding of basic lab safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency protocolsUnderstanding of data integrity and the importance of maintaining consistent, reproducible resultsEnthusiasm for a career in biotech, with an interest in innovation, research, and contributing to advancing healthcare or technology solutionsVILYA INTERN COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Wage: $25/hour - $45/hour, based on a combination of education and experienceOpportunity to work in a disruptive startup with a talented, experienced, and dedicated teamMonthly commuter stipend
