Attorney/Counsel
We are seeking an early-career legal professional to join our Legal & Compliance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‐on experience across asset management, litigation strategy, regulatory analysis, and loan transaction support within a fast‐paced mortgage and financial services environment. You'll work closely with experienced legal and business leaders, contributing to real‐time deal execution, risk assessment, and operational decision‐making. This position is well‐suited for a recent law school graduate, current 3L, or junior professional looking to build a career at the intersection of law, credit, and structured finance.Responsibilities and Duties: Asset Management & Credit Support Review data tapes, servicing notes, payment histories, and collateral files to identify risks, defects, and opportunitiesSupport the development of strategies for loan workouts, modifications, and asset resolutionAssist in translating legal and operational findings into pricing adjustments, indemnities, or other deal considerationsLitigation & Default Management Assist in managing foreclosure, eviction, and bankruptcy matters in coordination with outside counselSupport analysis of legal issues including lien priority, title defects, and regulatory exposureContribute to tracking litigation outcomes, timelines, and costsTransaction & Deal Support Support drafting and review of transaction documents, including PSAs, MLPAs, and related agreementsCoordinate with internal teams and external partners to support diligence and closing workflowsAssist in resolving repurchase, indemnity, and exception‐related mattersRegulatory & Compliance Research and analyze federal and state mortgage regulations, particularly related to non‐agency and non‐QM productsSupport the integration of compliance considerations into operational workflowsContribute to maintaining templates, checklists, and internal guidance materialsEducation and Experience: J.D.
