This individual participates in the development of new construction and welding technologies, materials, consumables, equipment, manuals, as well as CBI standards. Also, this employee assists with the training of CB&I personnel that come under the direction of CB&I Welding Technology.ResponsibilitiesActively seeks and utilizes effective mentoring relationship(s)Establishes related medium and long term career and personal development goalsEnthusiastically seeks and accepts tasks and projects in rotations that allow for maximum experience and personal growthProactively embraces and promotes the company’s HSE requirements and culture Regularly introspect, seek feedback and adapt behaviors for ongoing personal developmentUtilizes communication skills appropriate to the environment.Accurately produce deliverables per applicable work instructionsReliably check and sign off Work Orders,Coordinate with other roles and functions within weld lab teamForecast how long it will take to do a task - commit to definitive deadlinesGenerate improvement ideas for tools and workflow associated with the role, and develop investment justificationImplement improvement initiatives within the department and companyComplete calibration checks in accordance with written proceduresExecute the welding of test plates, mock-up assemblies or production samples in accordance with the requirements of the CB&I work order system.Perform mechanical testing of test specimens in accordance with code requirements and the CB&I work order system.Perform PWHT operations in accordance with written instructions and the CB&I work order system.Perform NDE operations on test coupons in accordance with written procedures, code requirements and the CB&I work order system.Assist with CB&I in-house training classes and with the training and testing of welding personnel.Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of Weld Lab equipment, tools and supplies for continued performance on CWT required activities.Be knowledgeable and proficient in use of company tools, standards, procedures, and capabilities; and solves complex problems taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.Be knowledgeable and proficient in various processes used by the CWT Welding Lab including: SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, EGW, Oxy-Acetylene & Plasma Cutting. Execute sawing and machining of welded test plates per the Work Order drawings.Be knowledgeable and proficient in the mechanics of machining test specimens in accordance with code requirements and the CB&I work order system.Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of knowledge in own specialized discipline or field.Produces deliverables that are of high quality and comply with designs, company standards, and contract documents; and impacts the achievement of customer, operational or project objectivesHas advanced self-awareness and interpersonal skillsProactively embraces and promotes the company’s values and cultureAbility to complete tasks with little to no supervisionMaintain the safe, efficient and high quality operations of the CWT Weld Lab.Provide good quality and useful feedback or information on the activities performed in the labLocal RequirementsProject site is required.Qualifications0 to 2 years of experience in welding is preferredCollege certificate in welding technology or manufacturing technology preferred Cross-functional training such as mechanical testing and machining desiredParticipation in proper demonstration of Safety rules and regulationsEffective verbal and written communication skillsSkills and BehaviorsBe knowledgeable and proficient in use of company tools, standards, procedures, and capabilities; and solves complex problems taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.Be knowledgeable and proficient in various processes used by the CWT Welding Lab including: SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, EGW, Oxy-Acetylene & Plasma Cutting.
