📣 Now Hiring: Art Researcher (Japanese-English Bilingual)🎨 Japanese Art Studio📍 Brooklyn, NY🌍 A Japanese art studio based in Brooklyn is seeking an Art Researcher to support the conceptual development of artworks, including paintings, digital art, and sculpture.This role works closely with the artist to integrate art historical, cultural, and philosophical context into each piece. The Art Researcher will translate in-depth research into clear concepts, narratives, artist statements, exhibition texts, and artwork descriptions that support both the creative process and external communication.💼 Key Responsibilities📚 Research & Context Development・Conduct in-depth research on art history, philosophy, and cultural context aligned with each project’s concept・Build contextual connections to past works, artists, and historical movements・Conduct additional research on art trends, market context, and collector perspectives as needed✍️ Concept & Narrative Writing・Translate research into clear and compelling concept narratives for both internal and external use・Support the creation of artist statements, exhibition texts, and artwork descriptions🤝 Artist Collaboration & Research Archive・Collaborate closely with the artist to develop and refine ideas and creative directions・Develop and maintain an internal research archive for future reference and reuse✅ Requirements・Bachelor’s degree in Art History or equivalent knowledge/experience・Solid understanding of art history; knowledge of both Western and Eastern art is preferred・Strong ability to structure and articulate abstract ideas・Ability to translate research into practical and meaningful concepts for artwork・Strong communication skills and ability to engage in deep dialogue with artists・Excellent writing skills in both English and Japanese・Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English💼 Employment Details & Benefits💰 $60,000–$70,000 (DOE)🕘 Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM🍱 One-hour lunch break📄 Employment Type: Full-time✔ Health Insurance✔ Paid Time Off✔ Sick Leave✔ Commuter Reimbursement📩 If you are passionate about art, research, writing, and conceptual storytelling, we’d love to hear from you!
