CNC Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor CNC is responsible for leading daily operations of the CNC department to deliver safe, high-quality, on-time production. This role drives team performance, process efficiency, and continuous improvement by aligning people, equipment, materials, and schedules to meet project deadlines, capacity targets, and budget expectations. The supervisor sets the standard for accountability, craftsmanship, and collaboration while actively developing team capability and supporting DI's mission to create remarkable experiences.Essential Responsibilities/Functions may include but are not limited to:Lead and supervise day-to-day operations of CNC/LSAM/Laser to meet safety, quality, schedule, and efficiency targetsParticipate in project kickoffs, planning meetings, and operational reviews to support execution readinessPlan, prioritize, and adjust workflow based on project schedules, capacity, and resource availabilityPartner with Project Engineers and Production leadership to align scope, timelines, and material readinessMonitor equipment performance, preventative maintenance, and tooling needs; recommend process or equipment improvementsReview toolpaths, setups, and material plans to proactively identify risks, rework, and constraintsDrive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, increase throughput, and improve qualityTrack and report performance metrics, capacity, and production efficiencies; implement corrective actions as neededEnsure accurate timekeeping, inventory reporting, material issuance, and purchasing coordinationMaintain strict adherence to QA standards, safety policies, and DI operational proceduresLead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management for CNC team membersConduct regular 1:1s, annual reviews, career development plans, and performance improvement plans as neededAllocate labor effectively, manage overtime needs, and coordinate cross-department resource supportEncourage a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture aligned with DI Core ValuesKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strong leadership presence with the ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining respect and trustDemonstrates ownership, adaptability, and a commitment to operational excellenceAdvanced ability to read and interpret drawings, toolpaths, and manufacturing documentationDeep knowledge of CNC processes, materials (MDF, hardwood, metal, plastics, foam, etc.), and fabrication workflowsExcellent problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making in a fast-paced production environmentHigh attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvementEffective communicator who is transparent, solution-oriented, and confident across teamsFinancial and operational awareness, including efficiency, labor utilization, and cost impactEducation/Certifications/Experience:8+ years of CNC programming and manufacturing experience (design/build or fabrication environment preferred)OSHA certification, CPIM, or similar credentials a plus5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a production settingProficiency in Mastercam requiredCNC, Machining, or Trade certification preferredPhysical Demands:The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawlEmployee must be able to talk and hearThe employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 poundsSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusWork Environment:Due to our onsite Fabrication process, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
