ensure compliance with federal and state codes, coordinate annual inspection schedules, and maintain communication with monitoring entitiesSupervise electronic access control system management including installation, maintenance, and repair of locks, readers, and ADA-accessible hardware; ensure proper inventory control, equipment lifecycle management, and adherence to procurement proceduresLead telecommunications and low-voltage system functions providing oversight of network infrastructure, UPS systems, and cable (copper, fiber, CATV, CCTV); coordinate with IT campus partners and external vendors to ensure system reliability and performanceManage work order system for assign area including appropriate assignments, documentation, and trainingDevelop and implement a preventative maintenance plan for equipment associated with assigned discipline/trade.Perform regular inspections of work performed to ensure regulatory requirement compliancePerform individual room inspections, system checks and repairs as neededEnsure compliance with health and safety standards within facilities (e.g. environmental concerns, indoor air quality) providing follow-up to stakeholders, as neededResponsible for quality assurance and ensuring appropriate standards for all work performed by internal staff or contracted vendors follows department, UF, and industry standards, guidelines, and policiesPrepare and review operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.Responsible for proper disposal of surplus or equipment, inventory, and supplies for assigned area.Collaborate on various facility initiatives or facility/campus projectsReview plans and create recommendations on capital and minor construction projects specific to self-performed work; ensure proper installation management after design and reviewParticipate in architectural and engineering planning and design, including space and installation management.Attend commissioning or other walkthroughs with vendors and contractors for low voltage and life-safety installationsEnsure construction and renovation projects meet environmental, health, and safety standards, and comply with government regulationsAdministrative Leadership & CoordinationSupervise full-time staff including recruitment, training, HR compliance, performance evaluation, coordination of on-call schedules and professional developmentProvide leadership in establishing goals, work priorities and daily workflow, and outcomesOversee budget for area of responsibility and allocate resources to support priorities; assist with budget planning (long and short-term)Lead the development, implementation, dissemination, and enforcement of departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency, and compliance within areas of responsibilityEnsure effective use of information systems (e.g. work order management system) and corresponding data utilized in area operations and departmental processesResponsible for developing, maintaining, disseminating, and enforcing policies, procedures, and guidelines for areas of responsibilityInterpret and ensure compliance with departmental and University policies, guidelines, and other relevant regulationsDevelop and implement written operating policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety standards, quality work standards, handling of hazardous materials, and work order managementMaintain an up-to-date knowledge on current code requirements, industry standard methods, procedures, and technologyProvide oversight to continuing education related to safety, handling of hazardous materials, material safety data sheets (SDS), regulatory codes, compliance, and product equipment/advancementsManage and track inventory, equipment, and suppliesManage inventory of materials, supplies, chemicals, tools and/or equipment throughout area of responsibility; repair equipment as neededReview requirements for equipment and material logistics, implement inventory control systems, and order and maintains supplies for equipment and operationsAssist in monitoring of maintenance service agreements and other contractual services with external vendorsAssist with short- and long-term planning of equipment needs and purchasesDevelop reports, handle special projects, tasks, and other duties as assignedServe on Division of Student Life or University of Florida committees as neededServe as a member of the unit leadership teamOperates state vehicles Expected Salary:$65,000 annually;
