What You'll Do as a Press Cell Lead: Lead and oversee press cell operations, ensuring efficient production, quality, and safety standards are metOperate and optimize press functions to maximize production rates, yields, and overall performanceSet up and manage extrusion processes, including creating and maintaining extrusion process sheets (EPS)Monitor production systems (e.g., BizWare) and use calculations to adjust billet length and optimize outputCoordinate and adjust press schedules based on production needs and prioritiesInspect materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, tolerances, and surface qualitySet up, operate, and maintain equipment including saws, die heaters, stretchers, and cranesPerform preventative maintenance and ensure proper installation and care of tooling (e.g., saw blades, dies)Support and train team members while cross-training across all extrusion and press cell functionsMaintain a clean, organized work area using 6S standards and follow all safety proceduresWhat You Need to Bring Press Cell Lead: Prior leadership or lead-level experience requiredStrong experience with extrusion press operations and related manufacturing processesAbility to read and interpret production data to verify rates, yields, and performance metricsMechanical aptitude, including ability to weld and perform equipment setup and adjustmentsAbility to operate and safely use various equipment including cranes, saws, and stretchersStrong understanding of quality standards, material identification, and inspection processesAbility to schedule, prioritize, and adapt production operations as neededFamiliarity with production systems and tools (e.g., BizWare, log calculations, process sheets)Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvementAbility to work cross-functionally and train others in press cell operationsWhy You'll Like Working with Doherty Staffing SolutionsEnjoy weekly pay , access to health coverage options through Benefits in a Card (including preventative and minimum value plans), and temp-to-hire opportunities for long-term stability where applicable.
