IFS Solutions Architect – Professional ServicesReports to: Director, Professional ServicesLocation: US, RemoteThe IFS Solution Architect is responsible for designing and guiding the delivery of scalable, high-quality IFS solutions that enable customers to achieve their business objectives. This role serves as the technical and functional authority across engagements, ensuring that solution design aligns with customer requirements, IFS best practices, and long-term value realization. The Solution Architect acts as a trusted advisor to customers and internal teams—bridging business needs with system capabilities, driving architectural integrity, and enabling successful ERP transformations. The ultimate objective is to deliver solutions that are robust, maintainable, and aligned with customer strategy while minimizing risk and accelerating time to value. We are seeking a Solution Architect who is equally comfortable in executive discussions and deep technical design, with strong expertise in IFS Cloud and earlier Apps versions and a proven ability to lead solution design across complex enterprise programs. This is an opportunity to shape how IFS solutions are architected and delivered across a growing portfolio of strategic customers.Competencies:IFS Solution Expertise: Deep functional and technical expertise in IFS Cloud and earlier IFS Applications versions across core enterprise modules, with the ability to design cohesive, end-to-end solutions aligned to complex business requirements.Solution Architecture & Design Leadership: Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solution architectures, balancing standard functionality, configuration, and extension strategies while maintaining architectural integrity.Executive & Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to communicate solution options, trade-offs, and implications clearly to both business and technical stakeholders, including executive audiences, to support informed decision-making.Cross-Functional Architecture & Governance: Deep experience designing and governing integrations between IFS and external systems, while exercising architectural oversight across IFS functional domains to ensure end-to-end solution integrity. Accountable for maintaining alignment of processes, data, and configurations across modules (e.g., Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Projects), enforcing design standards, resolving cross-functional conflicts, and ensuring cohesive, scalable business workflows across the enterprise landscape.Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end solution design for IFS implementations, including requirements gathering, solution definition, validation, and support through delivery to ensure alignment with business objectives and project scope.Provide leadership across engagements by establishing design direction, driving adherence to standards, and elevating delivery quality. Act as a steward of the customer’s objectives and the original sales vision, ensuring alignment between proposed outcomes, agreed scope, and delivered solution.Define overall solution architecture, including core system configuration, third-party integrations, data flows, and extension strategy, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.Define and maintain solution design documentation and architectural standards, ensuring consistency, traceability, and alignment across all project deliverables.Facilitate structured solution workshops with business and technical stakeholders to elicit requirements, align on process design, and drive informed decision-making.Ensure alignment with IFS best practices and standard functionality, proactively guiding customers toward optimal use of the platform while minimizing unnecessary customization.Provide architectural guidance and oversight to project teams, including functional consultants, developers, and data resources, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables.Identify, assess, and mitigate solution-related risks throughout the project lifecycle, including design gaps, integration dependencies, and performance considerations.Support pre-sales activities, including solution shaping, effort estimation, and development of Statements of Work (SOWs) that accurately reflect scope, assumptions, and delivery approach.Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance on solution design, system capabilities, and long-term roadmap considerations to support sustained business value.Qualifications Experience:Proven experience delivering ERP solution architecture within a Professional Services environment, with a strong focus on IFS implementations and related technologies.Deep functional and technical knowledge of IFS Cloud and earlier Apps versions, including experience across multiple modules and the ability to design integrated, end-to-end solutions.Demonstrated experience leading solution design in complex, multi-entity or multi-site implementations with diverse stakeholder groups and requirements.Strong understanding of ERP architecture principles, including system configuration, data structures, integrations, and performance optimization.Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both business and technical audiences.Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery involvement, ensuring that high-level design decisions are effectively translated into executable solutions.Experience contributing to proposals, SOWs, and pre-sales engagements, including defining scope, assumptions, and delivery models.Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage competing priorities, operate independently, and maintain accountability in a consulting environment.
