Sr. Engineer, Software
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the development of platforms and applications. This is a highly skilled hands‐on role requiring extensive proficiency involved in all aspects of the development of cloud-based software solutions. Subject to their specialization, this Senior Software Engineer leads the design, development, testing, publishing, and/or support of different cloud-based products and solutions and serves as subject‐matter expertise for customer implementation and cloud platform support. The Senior Software Engineer works closely with a global team of engineers to build robust solutions that meet our business objectives following continuous integration and continuous deployment processes, while supporting software and associate software engineers. Additionally, this role provides recommendations to management as to process, technologies, or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and/or quality of the solutions developed by the team and leads the implementation of new solutions.Principal Duties and Essential ResponsibilitiesOngoing evaluation (test) of feature design – proactively work with others to identify issues or potential risk areas with the architecture and performanceDistill requirements from feature level into implementation level tasksDevelop features using best practices and ensure it fits with the architecture for the productEnsure the right work is being done - ensure product qualities such as unit tests, automation, throughput, capacities, security & performance will be sufficientEnsure design and implementation work meets the stakeholder's requirementsEnsure that the feature design is correct for operations, as well as deployment and sustainabilitySupport departmental and team initiativesWork with Team Technical Architect and Lead to define, document, and communicate coherent feature designCommunicate relevant risks and issues to Team Lead and other relevant team members inside and/or outside the teamProvide technical leadership to less experienced members of the team – mentor, coach, continuous improvementTake responsibility for technical implementation and decision making including the delivery of featuresIdentify, monitor and resolve feature related issues; elevate if individual resolution is not possibleReview documentation and guides created by more junior members of the teamGuide Software Engineers on how to create sufficient, complete documentation and guides that help onboard new people to the teamEnsure stakeholders understand feature architectureMaintain communication with stakeholders and ensure changes to any previously agreed solutions are communicated; understand evolutionary pathsWork with assigned partners to ensure an effective and productive relationship, both within the product house and the wider regional Verint support organization.Prioritize and resolve technical problems and assist others with the sameEnsure the prioritization of scope (including defects) is understoodUnderstand the development process and suggest improvements to itIdentify areas of technical risk in a feature and options to de‐riskSupport opportunities to address technical debt as part of a releaseSupport the design process and ensure it complies with product architectureSupport planning as regards estimates, dependencies, risk areas, and sequencing tasksMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in computer science / software engineering (or similar)5 years' experience in design and programming large scale applications through all phases of the software development life cycle including testing, implementation and auditingProven track record of delivery of complex features end-to-endExperience mentoring mid to entry level engineers and influencing technical direction within a cross-functional squadStrong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JPA/Hibernate)Solid understanding of RESTful API design, OAuth 2.0/JWT, and microservices patternsStrong working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle) including schema design and query optimization. Solid exposure to NoSQL stores (Redis, Elasticsearch, MongoDB)Experience consuming LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or integrating AI-powered features into production workflowsStrong debugging skills of performance/memory leaks/crash/Multi-threaded/Algorithms.Experience with source control tools (GIT, SVN or similar)Experience with containerized runtime environments: Docker, KubernetesExperience with compiling and continuous integration tools like : Eclipse/IntelliJ, Visual Studio, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory or other continuous integration/build/static code analysis toolsExcellent teamwork, self-learner and self-managedStrong interpersonal skills, high communication skillsClear and concise written and verbal communication in English; comfortable presenting technical plans to engineering and product stakeholdersPreferred RequirementsExperience in full stack developmentExperience in Node.js programming languageExperience in JavaScript/TypeScript with hands-on React experience (hooks, context, Redux or equivalent).Experience with Cloud hosting services: AWS, Azure, or GCPExperience with Application Performance Management systems: DataDog, NewRelic, AppDynamics, ELK#J-18808-Ljbffr
