Insurance Defense Paralegal

Kennedys, a global law firm with offices throughout the US, seeks a full-time Paralegal with 5+ years of solid insurance litigation experience related to NY law to join our team in our New York City Office. This is a really exciting opportunity for an ambitious paralegal to join a growing, global law firm.Key ResponsibilitiesAbility to review/analyze and summarize medical records and add relevant dates/information to the medical chronologyPrepare answers to Discovery with client contactPrepare discovery motions (Motions to Extend Discovery, Motion to Compel Discovery and Motion Dismiss Complaint for Plaintiff's Failure to Provide Discovery)Experience reviewing Plaintiff's Answers to InterrogatoriesSchedule and coordinate IME's for plaintiffResearch (Westlaw preferred) and other online sourcesAssist in retention of experts with experience in dealing with outside vendorsPrepare HIPPA Authorization Forms for Plaintiff's execution and returnRetrieval of medical records from providers and Third-Party vendorsFollow-up with providers to ensure receipt of records of HIPPA requestPerform Jury Verdict Searches using WestlawPreparation of appeals, motions and privilege logsProduction of documentsShepardizing [blue booking]casesOur ideal candidate should have5+ years of relevant experience [Insurance Defense Litigation]Proficiency with the Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent organizational skills and keen attention to detailExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsThorough working knowledge of and experience working the Federal and New York court systemExperience drafting and entering time entriesExperience with WestlawParalegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred or relevant years of experience.The annualized salary range for this role is $75,000-$90,000.
