Human Resources Manager

Position SummaryThe Human Resources Manager is responsible for the daily oversight and administration of human resources operations for a luxury independent hotel environment. This role focuses heavily on employee benefits administration, H-2B workforce coordination, recruiting and onboarding, legal compliance, and maintaining organized, accurate employee records and HR processes.This position supports both hourly and management team members while helping ensure the hotel remains compliant with all applicable employment laws and operational standards. The role requires strong organization, discretion, follow-through, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across departments.Primary ResponsibilitiesBenefits AdministrationAdminister employee health, dental, vision, and related benefit programsCoordinate annual renewals, open enrollment, and employee education meetingsServe as liaison with insurance brokers and benefit providersEnsure accurate enrollment, deductions, qualifying event changes, COBRA administration, and terminationsAudit benefit eligibility and enrollment records regularlyAssist employees with benefit questions and enrollment paperworkEnsure all benefit-related documentation is properly completed and submitted on timeH-2B Program AdministrationCoordinate onboarding and compliance for H-2B employeesMaintain organized records for petitions, visas, arrival documentation, housing documentation, transportation reimbursements, and onboarding paperworkLiaise with immigration attorneys, government agencies, and internal department leadersCommunicate regularly with corresponding partner properties and international contacts regarding H-2B employee coordination and timingCoordinate employee arrivals, onboarding timelines, housing paperwork, and required documentationCoordinate seasonal employee housing readiness prior to arrivals, including furnishings, inspections, and move-in preparationServe as a point of contact for H-2B housing-related questions, concerns, and logistical mattersCoordinate internally with housekeeping, engineering, and operations teams regarding housing needs and maintenanceAssist with housing assignments, lease documentation, and employee move-in/move-out coordinationHelp ensure seasonal housing remains compliant, organized, and professionally maintained throughout the seasonEnsure compliance with federal and state regulations related to the H-2B programTrack visa dates, expirations, reimbursements, and required noticesAssist with H-2B recruiting coordination and seasonal staffing logisticsRecruiting & HiringManage job postings across hiring platformsScreen applicants and coordinate interviews with department headsConduct initial candidate interviews and reference checksMaintain organized applicant tracking and hiring recordsCoordinate onboarding documentation and new hire processesEnsure all required employment documents are completed accuratelySupport hiring efforts for seasonal and year-round positionsOnboarding & OrientationConduct new hire orientation for all employeesReview company policies, handbook acknowledgments, benefits information, and onboarding requirements with new hiresEnsure all onboarding paperwork and compliance documents are completed accurately prior to the start dateHelp introduce new employees to department leaders, workplace expectations, and company standardsCoordinate orientation schedules and onboarding communication with department managersHR Compliance & Employee RecordsMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment lawsMonitor and communicate changes in minimum wage laws and labor requirementsEnsure employee files, I-9s, onboarding documents, acknowledgments, and required postings are complete and compliantConduct regular audits of HR records and onboarding documentationAssist leadership with policy administration and handbook complianceSupport workers' compensation and unemployment documentation processesMaintain confidentiality of sensitive employee informationHelp ensure operational compliance with hospitality employment standards and practicesEmployee Relations & HR SupportServe as a resource for employee questions and HR-related concernsAssist with onboarding and orientation processesHelp coordinate trainings, acknowledgments, and compliance communicationsSupport management with documentation and follow-up related to employee mattersPromote a professional, organized, and service-oriented work environmentQualificationsPrevious Human Resources experience requiredHospitality experience requiredExperience with H-2B programs or seasonal workforce management preferredKnowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, benefits administration, and onboarding practicesStrong organizational and administrative skillsAbility to manage confidential information professionally and discreetlyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience working with onboarding systems preferredDetail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountabilityPosition DetailsFull-time, on-site positionSome evenings, weekends, or seasonal flexibility may occasionally be requiredReports to Ownership and/or Finance LeadershipIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
