Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Project Manager - ConstructionPosition OverviewWe are an established commercial general contractor specializing in commercial, retail, and hospitality construction projects in Orange County, and we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. The successful candidate will manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships to deliver high-quality retail, commercial, hospitality, and ground-up construction projects on time and within budget. This role requires strong construction and project management expertise, excellent communication, and a focus on safety and quality.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to scope and budgetDevelop and maintain project schedules, critical path analysis, and resource allocation plansPrepare and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, change orders, and financial reportingCoordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and on-site teams to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specificationsConduct regular site visits to monitor progress, enforce safety standards, and resolve construction issues promptlyLead project meetings with clients, design teams, and stakeholders; provide clear status updates and manage expectationsReview and manage contracts, permits, RFIs, submittals, and project documentationImplement quality control procedures and ensure compliance with building codes, company standards, and client requirementsIdentify project risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize schedule and cost impactsDrive continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and applying best practices to future projectsQualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience5+ years of progressive experience in construction project management with demonstrated success managing medium to large projectsProven skills in Construction Management and Project Management, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and contract administrationStrong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and safety regulations (OSHA)Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflictsProficient with project management and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or similar) and Microsoft OfficeAbility to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentsFlexible and adaptable problem-solver with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentNice to have: direct experience in Retail, Commercial, Hospitality, and Ground-up Construction projectsValid drivers license; construction industry certifications (PMP, CCM, OSHA 30) are a plus
