What you will be doing:
As our Leave Manager, you'll provide strategic oversight of all leave and accommodation programs: FMLA, ADA, short- and long-term disability, workers' compensation coordination, and applicable state and local leave laws. You'll lead a team of leave specialists and serve as the go-to expert for complex, escalated cases across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, coaching, and developing a team of leave specialists while setting clear performance expectations and supporting professional growth
Overseeing end-to-end leave administration — from eligibility determinations and medical certification management to intermittent leave tracking and return-to-work coordination
Partnering with Legal, HR Business Partners, and business leaders to ensure policy compliance and a consistent employee experience
Monitoring federal, state, and local legislative changes and translating them into updated policies, processes, and practices
Analyzing leave trends and metrics to identify risks and drive continuous improvement\
Managing third-party leave and disability vendor relationships, ensuring accuracy and service excellence
Collaborating with HRIS and Benefits teams to maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy
Maintaining confidential medical documentation in full compliance with legal and company requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (advanced degree or HR certification xywuqvp — PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP — a plus)
3+ years of progressive experience in leave administration, compliance, or benefits, with hands-on FMLA, ADA, and state leave law expertise
Prior experience leading or managing a team strongly preferred
Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local leave and accommodation regulations
Proven ability to manage complex cases, assess risk, and make sound, compliant decisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence leaders at all levels
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving instincts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/leave management systems
