Employees are also expected to comply with company and federal safety & health regulations, safety rules & policies, as well as procedures that guide work practices to reduce risk to exposure.  Such work practices include but are not limited to wearing required safety equipment, responding to safety concerns, and taking appropriate actions in the event of an emergency.Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvide 7x24 hour support of train control and dispatch operations, ranging from maintenance activities to real time critical system problem resolution.Provide support of Train Management Dispatch System to operating department and other supporting departments by identifying, investigating, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for various types of rail exceptionsProvide support of various components of Train Control operations including Centralized Traffic Control (CTC), Track Warrant Control (TWC), Remote Control Power Switch (RCPS), Switch Point Monitor Systems (SPMS), Track Integrity Warning Systems (TIWS), Positive Train Control (PTC) and Smart Mobile Client (SMC)Provide support for Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) operations which utilize various communication code protocols such as ATCS, ARES, Genisys, MCS and K-code delivered via various transmission systems including, modems, lease lines, RF, and microwaveProvide support of new technology dispatch function and delivery for non-traditional Command and Control or monitor systems for dispatch operationsProvide support of the safety Hy-Rail Limits Compliances system (HLCS) by investigating exceptions and providing detailed analysis of exceptions and rules complianceProvide support for maintaining and operations of dispatching workstations, various train control servers, remote dispatcher workstations, and mobile clientsProvide support for PTC wayside validationsEstablish short-range objectives for and assign responsibilities to office maintenance personnelDirectly supervise the 7x24 control signal electronic technicians so that established objectives will be metDetermine that all policies and procedures have received compliance by subordinate personnelRender technical advice and assistance when required by to representatives of other departments of train control and dispatch operationsProvide various official and legal information for various department pertaining train control and dispatching operationsThe duties and responsibilities in this posting are representative categories to be used in deciding whether to apply for the position. Basic QualificationsEither a Bachelor's degree, OR a minimum 3 years of equivalent experience Minimum of 2 years experience managing systems or personnel in support of systemsAble to work 24/7 as required to meet customer and business needs including nights, weekends and holidaysWilling to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, with the possibility of being on-call at times when neededWilling to work extra hours to meet deadlines and assisting when needed outside normal work hoursMust have strong interpersonal skills, including effective oral and written communication skills, managerial and leadership abilityAble to collaborate with other departments in problem resolutionAble to read and interpret information and provide analysis for different levels of managementPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in technology related disciplineKnowledge and/or experience of Signal Instructions & Operations, Train Control Systems, Computer Aided dispatching applications.A minimum of five years' experience in railway signaling or engineering is desirableAdvanced skills in the use of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft CoPilot.
