Dental Float Front Desk ReceptionistUnder the supervision of the Dental Supervisor, the Dental Front Desk Receptionist Float provides front office administrative support to the dental department. This position is responsible for managing patient check-in and check-out processes, scheduling dental appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the clinic. This position functions as a float front desk receptionist and will provide coverage at both dental clinic locations. Mira Mesa Dental Clinic 10737 Camino Ruiz, Suite 235 San Diego, CA 92126 National City Medical Clinic 2743 Highland Avenue National City, CA 91950 Front Office Administration Greet and assist patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner Check patients in and out for dental appointments Verify patient identification, insurance coverage, and eligibility Collect copayments and issue receipts according to clinic policy Schedule and confirm dental appointments Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record Scan and upload front office documents into patient charts Answer incoming phone calls and route them appropriately Prepare and maintain front office forms and documentation Assist in managing patient flow to support timely provider schedules Float Coverage Provide front desk coverage at both Mira Mesa and National City dental clinics Travel between clinic sites based on scheduling or operational needs Support clinic operations during staffing shortages or schedule adjustments Quality Management Participate in quality improvement activities and support organizational performance goals Follow front office workflows that support patient satisfaction and operational efficiency Customer Relations Maintain professional working relationships with patients, staff, and the public Provide excellent customer service in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to support patient care Safety Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures related to workplace safety Follow all safety protocols and report unsafe conditions Be familiar with the location of emergency exits and safety equipment HIPAA and Compliance Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational information Access confidential information only as required for job duties Comply with all HIPAA, corporate integrity, and compliance requirements Report unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful activity in accordance with organizational policy Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 12 years of experience in a medical or dental office preferred Experience with patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification preferred Knowledge of dental terminology and dental scheduling systems preferred Experience working with multiple insurance plans including Medi-Cal and managed care plans preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish or Tagalog preferred Basic computer skills including electronic health records, word processing, and spreadsheets Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Annual Requirements, Licensure, and Certifications: Have reliable transportation; clean driving record, and car insurance as required by the state. Physical Demands Move throughout the clinic and community. Repetitive hand movement, use and view PC. Use fax, telephone, and copier. Sits or stand for long period of time, reach, bend, climb, stoop, and lift up to 25lb.
