Join our client - a leader in vertical transportation - and take ownership of service sales across an established market in Washington, DC.As the Sales Manager - Service Sales, you’ll lead a dynamic sales team focused on expanding service business, strengthening long-term customer partnerships, and driving profitable performance across the branch. This leadership role is based out of the branch office and includes regular travel throughout the territory to support customers, sales teams, and field operations. Elevator industry experience is preferred; however, we’re also highly interested in candidates from related industries such as HVAC, equipment rental, waste management, fleet services, fire protection, uniform and facility services, route-based service businesses, and other recurring-revenue or commercial service environments.What You’ll Do: Lead for Results: Set performance targets and lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals. Conduct quarterly reviews and foster a culture of accountability and growth. Drive Strategic Growth: Implement sales initiatives aligned with corporate goals to increase revenue, profitability, and market share across the service business line. Own Customer Relationship: Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, regular site visits, and a focus on long-term partnerships. Oversee Sales Operations: Monitor branch sales activities through CRM, guide the bidding process, and ensure timely and compliant submission of proposals, renewals, and contracts. Ensure Quality & Profitability: Collaborate on bidding strategies that ensure margin targets are met. Analyze branch performance metrics including P&L, backlog, pipeline, and overall service portfolio to stay on track. Drive Business Development: Develop consistent, compelling sales messaging and tools to support your team in winning new business. Lead efforts to continuously improve proposal quality and sales presentations. Be a Market Expert: Stay ahead of market trends, competitive strategies, customer retention trends, and client needs in the Washington, DC area. Promote Safety & Satisfaction: Support a culture of safety across the branch and ensure customer satisfaction initiatives are implemented across departments. What You Bring to the Team: Proven success in B2B field sales within competitive service, commercial, industrial, or recurring-revenue environments. Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of sales experience preferred; or 3+ years of elevator or relevant service-industry sales experienceStrong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing a sales team Experience managing proposal development, contract negotiation, and CRM systems Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial reports and drive decision-making.Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Location: Washington, DC – Local travel required to client sites and projects Salary range: $140,000- $165,000.
