Job Overview
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance efforts including the physical aspects of the building, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, major appliances. The Engineer maintains preventative maintenance within the rooms to ensure they are being kept up to standards on a regular basis and the proper documentation is being recorded.
Responsibilities & Duties
Maintain the property's preventative maintenance procedures for guest rooms, kitchen, equipment, public space, grounds, building envelope, etc.
Establish and maintain open communications with all departments to become aware of maintenance needs and ensure a timely response.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all building-related systems and equipment – HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen furnishings, internet infrastructure, etc.
Responds in a courteous and helpful tone to all guest and team member questions, complaints, or requests to deliver on brand standards and ensure a comfortable and thoughtful guest experience.
Respond to maintenance requests received from the Front Desk or Housekeeping
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, etc.
Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
Diagnose problems or repairs.
Inspect and test machinery and equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance relating to all property's units, public areas & amenities.
Maintain focus on a high-level of guest satisfaction
Provide a warm, authentic greeting to all residents and guests according to company standards.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure at all times
Maintain regular presence throughout the department.
Communicate regularly with the Director of Engineering regarding issues, risk, and liability concerns, or other important business matters.
Ensure the proper handling, maintenance, storage, and security of all department equipment.
Ensure high operational up time for property equipment by completing work orders in a timely manner.
Proactively assess the safety and efficiency of facilities and maintenance operations; physical structure; mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems; and other related items.
Routine maintenance on public space, function space, outlets, back of house areas, and external space and verify completion of repairs, replacement, and renovations throughout the property.
Maintain par levels for all tools and equipment to allow for immediate correction of maintenance issues and reduce down time.
Regularly inspect property, including rooms, outlets, and amenities, to ensure adherence to standards.
Ensure physical property and services comply with regulations regarding safety, security, and property quality standards.
Assist in property projects related to construction, renovation, facility repair, and decoration.
As engineer, you may be called upon to respond to emergencies such as power outages, flooding, or other issues that require immediate attention.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Must be at least 18 years old.
Education & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency
Minimum 1 year related work experience
Knowledge about the mechanics of a hotel including; boiler systems, booster pump systems, building automation, electrical and plumbing systems
Knowledge of painting, finish work, and minor carpentry
