Job Description: Welder I Location: Rockwall, TX, 75032 Job Summary: The Welder I will be responsible for welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to blueprints, layouts, or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. The Welder I will also be responsible for inspecting welds for accuracy and completeness and maintaining welding equipment and supplies. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding process specifications Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material Examine welds for accuracy, completeness, and defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercuts Clean and maintain welding equipment and supplies Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in welding or a related field Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment Ability to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment Ability to examine welds for accuracy, completeness, and defects Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
