hackajob is collaborating with MANTECH to connect them with exceptional professionals for this role.MANTECH seeks a motivated and experienced Tempest Engineer to join our team as an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Tempest Specialist.This role supports our mission to secure and strengthen electromagnetic protection across advanced electronic systems. As a Tempest Professional, you will play a key role in ensuring systems are designed, tested, and certified to meet rigorous electromagnetic compatibility and security standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers, program managers, and stakeholders to lead compliance efforts aligned with CNSSP-510 and NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92. This position will be relocating to Herndon, VA by the summer of 2026.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToDevelop, manage, and implement comprehensive Tempest programs aligned with regulatory standards including NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and CNSSP-510.Conduct electromagnetic risk assessments and apply effective mitigation strategies to minimize security threats.Plan and execute EMC and Tempest testing on electronic systems to ensure regulatory compliance.Support engineering design by analyzing systems for electromagnetic vulnerabilities and recommending design modifications.Create and maintain detailed documentation such as test plans, analysis reports, and certification records.Train and raise awareness among personnel regarding Tempest policies, procedures, and best practices.Ensure our organization’s compliance with evolving Tempest regulations and maintain program readiness. Minimum QualificationsCertified TEMPEST Professional Level II (CTP II)A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in EMC and Tempest testing, analysis, and certificationBackground in Electrical EngineeringDeep understanding of electromagnetic theory, signal processing, and electromagnetic compatibilityStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to interpret data and design effective solutionsPreferred QualificationsCNSSP-510 or NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 certificationExperience with RF receivers (FSWT experience a plus)Familiarity with oscilloscopes (analog and digital), waveform generators, signal generators, and spectrum analyzersExperience using a range of antennas and other electronic testing tools as requiredRelevant industry certifications such as CISSP or EMC-specific credentialsExperience with specific Tempest standards (NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSP-510)Proficiency in using Tempest testing tools including signal and spectrum analyzers Clearance RequirementsSecret clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/ SCI with Poly. Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
