Project Engineer

OverviewBKF Engineers is hiring a Project Engineer to join our Bay Area Offices. We seek individuals with strong technical abilities and experience in land development project design who can independently apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using their experience and judgment. The role includes planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed phases of technical work in small to major projects, assisting senior engineers and project managers with project status for clients and internal reporting, and supervising/ coordinating the team of engineers, drafters, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.ResponsibilitiesProject Design for Site DevelopmentGrading and Drainage PlansUtility Systems for Water and SewerReport Preparation and Master Planning StudiesPreparation of specifications and cost estimatesRoadway/Street final design package - Plan, Profile, Cross SectionsRoadway Design: Streetscape, Green Streets, Bicycle Path PlansAdherence to Federal, State, City and County StandardsReport Preparation and Conceptual StudiesPreparation of Specifications and Quantity Takeoffs/Cost EstimatesProjects include residential, commercial, mixed-use and public works projectsRequirements3+ years of experience in site development and design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, utility systems, roadways, and public worksB.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum or equivalentEIT/ FE certification preferredExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plusStrong communication skillsPhysical DemandsMust be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.Work ConditionsExposure to office-like sounds and a high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.BenefitsThe anticipated base salary range for this position is $99,500.00 - $135,740.00, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
