Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities, related to FoodSafety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and processvariability.The purpose of this position is to direct the activities of Pre-Cooked Department employees engaged inthe manufacture of egg patties and omelets. Develop work schedules and assignments to meetproduction goals, coordinate on-the-job training activities for new hires and transferred employees, andprovide relief to other Pre-Cooked Department Lead Persons and the Processing Supervisors.• Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to allsafety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.* Ensures regulatory compliance at all times.* Perform all duties and responsibilities of other Pre-Cooked Department Lead Persons (i.e.Forming Room, 3rd Floor, and 4th Floor).* Ensure proper and constant communication between floors, departments, and shifts.* Have thorough knowledge of and perform daily and weekly start-up and shutdown procedures forDoboy, Ovens, Spiral Freezers, etc.* Must be knowledgeable in all customer specifications and have the ability to performweight/quality checks, metal detector checks and corresponding computer and/or paperwork andenter data on the Infinity QS system.* Determine if product meets proper specifications and take corrective action if needed.* Confer with the Processing Supervisor and/or subordinates to resolve employee problems,complaints, or grievances.* Must be able to endure the temperature variation in all areas of the Pre-Cooked Departmentthroughout the entire shift.* Attend seminars and training which will enhance professional competence.* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you getalong with customers, clients, co-workers and management.* The lead must be capable of performing basic maintenance on equipment, along with assistingmaintenance in troubleshooting and making repairs.* May make decisions and perform the job responsibilities of the Processing Supervisor in theirabsence.* Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitaryconditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level 3certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect foodsafety, food quality or personnel safety.* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you getalong with customers, clients, co-workers and management.* Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Abilityto speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw andinterpret bar graphs.* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, ordiagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Driver's LicensePowered Industrial Truck (PIT) CertificationPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:Have good communication skills (reading, writing and verbal) and ability to work well with others.A good, positive attitude with the ability to work with the supervisor on addressing issues tactfully.Strong attention to detail.Have the ability to lead people.Basic math and computer skills.Good mechanical skills and ability to operate specific equipment or tools.Complete understanding of the Cooked Department and customer specifications.Complete understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP'S) Hazard Analysis and CriticalControl Points (HACCP), and Safety regulations for the areaWear the proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for the job.Ability to work indoors in a changing temperature environment.Ability to travel stairs.Ability to stand on hard surfaces.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Have the equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform theessential duties.
